Notes on Meter Reading Entry

If usage calculates as zero then the system will prompt:

No Usage. Create a bill for the minimum? (Y/N):

If you answer "Y" to this question then a bill for the minimum amount will be calculated for this customer.

If usage calculates as greater or less than a certain percentage of the previous usage then the following message will display:

The present usage is (+/-) 50 % of the previous. OK? Y/N

The percentage that is checked is set in the system control file.

If the account selected is not in the current billing cycle then the system will prompt:

Account not in current billing cycle. OK? (Y/N):

If there is already a billing transaction for this account, then system will warn:

Reading already Entered. OK to Modify? (Y/N):

If the reading that is entered is less than the previous entry, then the system will prompt:

Negative Usage. Press 'CR' to continue: X Rollover? (Y/N):

If "Y" is entered in answer to the rollover question then the usage for the rollover will automatically be calculated.

The meter reading program can do GALLON-CUBIC FEET CONVERSION. This is based on the meter type of the customer. If your system normally reads in gallons and the customer is designated to have a Cubic Feet Meter, then the usage will automatically be converted. If you normally read in Cubic Feet and the customer has a gallons meter then the usage will convert.

The program charges PER DIEM on FINALS. If the reading is a final reading (indicated by F) then the utility charges would be divided on a per diem basis unless the minimum usage is exceeded. For example, if a final reading is made on the 30th day of the first month of the quarter then the charges will be a third (30/90) of the base quarterly charge.

MEMO - You may use the M-Memo option to enter any invoice memo of your choice for this one customer's bill. The memo will print on the customer's invoice (if your format provides for this) and will be included in the customer's history.

ALLOWS MORE THAN ONE CHARGE. With this feature, final bills, adjusting bills, and extra bills may be added to the same account during the same period.
