Field

Description

Customer #

Assign an available number  for this account.  An 'E' at this field will go back and ask "Add, Delete  Modify,  Inquire, or End".

Type

This indicates the type of customer.  I-Industrial, C-Commercial, D-Distributor, R-Retail, etc.

Name

Enter the customer's name, last name comma first name.  On statement and invoice  printing the left and right hand sides of the comma will be reversed.  For example an entry of 'Smith Jr., John Q. ' will print on the invoice as 'John Q. Smith Jr.'

Address

This would  be  the  address, city, state and zip code for the billing of this account

Salesman

the primary salesman for this account should  be entered in this field.

Status

Inactive accounts would have an 'I' entered here.  You can make up other codes as appropriate.  B-Bankrupt, O-Out of Business, H-Hold, etc.

Tax Area 

The area for which sales taxes are paid by this  account.  'NT' indicates non-taxable, PA-Pennsylvania, NJ-New Jersey, etc.

Payment Terms

The code for the payment terms that this account gets

Statement Code

the customer receives a monthly statement. Y- Print statement if Customer has a nonzero Balance   N- Only if there is a greater than 60 Day Balance  H- Hold all statements.  Never print.  A- Always print a statement under any condition

Credit Limit

The dollar amount that would be the limit of the AR Balance plus amount on order for this customer.

Credit Status

Blank indicates to rely on the credit limit field. H - Hold credit for this account  A - Always pass credit

Start Date

The date this company became a customer

Mail Code

Indicates the type(s) of mailings this customer will receive.  This will vary according to your own uses

Price Code

Indicates the price level that this customer will receive by default and references that price in the products file.   Generally this will be R-Retail C-Contractor L-List or 1, 2 3 4 or 5

Finance Charge

Indicates if this customer will receive a finance charge Y-Yes or N-No.

Parent Account

If an account # is entered here this indicates that the charges for this customer will be posted to the parent account.

PO # Required

'Y' if a PO # is required for every invoice

Update to UPS?

Does this customer update to a UPS module.

Residential?

Is this address a residential address (for deliveries).
