A-Shell/Windows needs to be able to retrieve the NetBIOS machine name in order to establish an ID for the session. (This is the “machine name” that appears in the Network Properties “Identification” tab dialog.) Unfortunately, when only the Novell Netware client is installed, the NetBIOS machine name is not normally implemented. The easiest way to work around this problem is to just add the Client for Microsoft Networks to your protocol stack, leaving the Novell Netware client as the primary logon.
