I have a PC station running zterm 2000 that is currently cabled thru a serial line to com1 of a linux server.

Im trying to transfer a file from host to PC using the intenal zterm control codes. The transfer is failing. What i want to know initially is, is this a possiblity, or does this need to be connected thru a ethernet connection?

If it "should" work, what are the recommended settings for input/output flow control? Its possible that the cable pinouts are not right, but before I dig deeper, I wanted to see if this was even possible.

Thanx.

In that mode, you need to use xmodem or zmodem protocol, as the ZTERM/AMOS ZTXFER protocol isn't available for Linux. I don't remember if there was a mechanism for getting zmodem to start by itself, but even if so, I'm not sure how you could arrange that if the host is within A-Shell. Seems like you'd have to shell out to execute rz or sz on the Linux side.

Thanx for the feedback... I was pretty much expecting something along those lines...
