Jack's on the road, I'm looking for some quick help for a new ZTERM user.

Situation: Recently updated existing computer to WinXP. Until then, was using pcVision to connect over modem to Alpha Micro running Metropolis. Everything was good.

Now, since he cannot use pcVision with XP (I don't know if this is actually true), he installed ZTERM. Modem works, ZTERM connection seems to be live, but typing gets only (a) no characters, or (b) garbage characters. ZTERM's buad rate and emulator settings, 56K and AM62A, seem correct.

Also: user sometimes gets "error on telephone line" message that freezes ZTERM and seems to lock up XP. He reboots.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

try setting zterms baud rate to the alpha micros, could be an old modem on the am that does not support the 56k and baud rate matching
