I have used sosupd, but not for a while. Now I have downloaded version 2.1(105). When I run sosupd, it hangs with the following on the screen:

SOSLIB Update
Checking for updates...

I let it run for about 15 minutes, without success. Version (104) did the same while ashupd continues to work fine. Is there something new that is needed for this to work, or is there something I could have possibly erased to make sosupd stop working while ashupd continues to work?

What did Frank mean "eerily quiet while Herman was gone"?

It's probably just a statistical oddity, but the same day Herman returns, there have been more posts on the BBS than in the entire 10 days while he was gone...

As for SOSUPD - perhaps I broke the Windows version of it will tinkering with the UNIX version. I'll check it out and post an update tonight.

I've posted SOSUPD.RUN 2.1(106) which hopefully works better for you.

Jack,

The link may be wrong because I still have version 2.1(105) and it seems to behave badly. If it is the right program, just that the version was not changed, I'll explain the chain of events.

Thanks,
Herman

The link seems good to me, so I'm not sure how to explain what is happening. I just downloaded it again to a different directory, and DIR/V shows 2.1(106). Anybody else out there have a problem with this?

I see what happened now. After running sosupd it downloaded the older version and that probably explains are the strange stuff I got trying to run it the 2nd, 3rd, etc. time. I think the (106) works. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks.

My mistake there. I failed to update the SOSLIB repository with the new SOSUPD.RUN. Will do that shortly.
