Anybody have any experience with general purpose messaging apps in the Linux environment? (Perhaps something like Jabber?) We have a developer looking for one that can be integrated with A-Shell, but is not dependent on it. It needs the typical features of queueing/archiving messages, being able to track if a message has been delivered, etc.

Are u just sending up a flare in case you you're trying to outrun the wildfires and your only access to the outside world is a raspberry Pi? connected to rabbit ears and a hamster wheel?!

Sorry no help here.. we had a "hand built" variant years ago.. but after going GUI everyone uses some sort of existing product like Skype, etc.

PS: In all seriousness how are things holding up out there?

So far it's just another Autumn day in So Cal - "diablo" winds, 2% humidity, fires here and there. The black outs are new, but so far I've been lucky on that. Then again, maybe I shouldn't admit it?
