I added to my Wisdom bag today:

On Windows 10,
User reinstalled an inkjet/fax printer, in the PQI file DEVICE was:

DEVICE=EPSON F1234

When printing the output was going to the fax definition of the printer!!!

In the prInter / devices screen, I right clicked on the printer and and then scrolled down to
the first properties selection (the new one, there has always been one at the bottom).
Two printer name(S) were displayed:
EPSON F1234 Series Fax
EPSON F1234 Series
So ASW was ( I am guessing, read that ASSUMING ) looking at the printer and found a match of EPSON F1234.

So, I renamed the FAX name to EPSXXX234 Series Fax
AShell found the 2nd name and printed correctly.

I have had this problem before and finally figured out what was happening.
It has been inconsistent, (what Windows?) in that on other installations I believe the names are reversed:
EPSON F1234 Series
EPSON F1234 Series Fax

Anybody else have these kinds of problems ?

Hi Gary,

Yes, I can confirm to have that problem in the past and, since ever, I remember it and always guarantee that no printer has a full name that matches part of other printer's name, even without knowing if that's still an issue, just in case :-)
