Has anyone used an easy/free external graphics library? i.e. sending a data sample to and getting a corresponding pie chart. We chatted about it at the last pre-covid conference about 14 yrs ago just curious if anyone pursued it.

Hi Frank,
My bet now is PowerBI, it works, it's powerful and with the add-on that you can get the resulting dashboards in cell phones.
With the right commercial approach with the customer, you can even sell it as an extra service and charge for that.
Now, what really matters, do I have it already on the field?
No, but the reason is not due technical difficulties to implement it, which is pretty straightforword and now that you brought this up, I felt a compolsory motivation to reopen that project.
I'll let you know more details whenever I'll get back to it.

Good luck

Hey Jorge - thanks for the reply. I remember PowerBI and looked at it a bit. I was just thinking of a small project nothing major that would use the functionality of a large add-on such as this. Good luck be sure to post some pics! wink

We have tried several variation over the years , I think 14 yrs ago i showed you our DART product written in Delphi that took a CSV and a Ashell Call to show the data in a Chart of a type.
Now jumping forward to 2021/2022 we export the Ashell data into a sqlite database and integrated with a new Web Based Sales Analytics application ive been writing. (works with any back end system)
Some customers looked at PowerBI to interact with our Madics/Ashell-SQL Database but after digging deep each one found it too expensive for the full multi-user version. few use Crystal Reports.
