# CRC16

**xcall CRC16, block, crc, size**

CRC16 calculates a 16 bit CRC (aka CRC-16) for the specified block of data.

**Parameters**

_block  _[(BLOB](blob.md))  \[in\]

is an unformatted variable of arbitrary size.

_crc_  ([Num](num.md))  \[out\]

will return the CRC-16 value.

_size_  ([Num](num.md))  \[in\]

specifies the number of bytes within _block_ to consider.
