The DEBUG.xxx statements are equivalent to the corresponding [TRACE Statements](trace_statements.md) except that they are only triggered via the system [DEBUG Settings](debugsettings.md). Originally this was a useful distinction but since the debug level option was added to the TRACE statements, the DEBUG statements became redundant and deprecated.
