# exitcode

The _exitcode_ parameter serves the same function as the corresponding parameter of the same name in routines such as [INFLD](infld.md) and [XTREE](xtree_sbr.md), i.e. it returns a code indicating how the control was exited, as summarized in following table. See the [flags](flagsxtext.md) parameter for enabling other exit keys.

|------|------|
| 0 | Normal exit (Escape w/ update, Enter with TXF\_ENTESC) |
| 1 | Cancel (Escape w/o update) |
| 10 | Abort (Ctrl+C) |
| 11 | Timeout; see TXC.timeout in the [txtctl](txtctl.md) parameter. |
| \-35 | Shift+Tab (if TXF\_TAB) |
| \-40 | Ctrl+Left-Arrow (if TXF\_LEFT) |
| \-41 | Ctrl+Right-Arrow (if TXF\_RIGHT) |
| \-42 | Ctrl+Up-Arrow (if TXF\_UP) |
| \-44 | Tab (if TXF\_TAB) |
| \-45 | Ctrl+Home (if TXF\_HOME) |
| \-46 | Ctrl+End (if TXF\_END) |
| \-47 | Del (if TXF\_DEL) |
| \-49 to -74  | Another object clicked |
