# MX\_GETECHO

**xcall MIAMEX, MX\_GETECHO, echon**

MX\_GETECHO (MIAMEX 5) retrieves the current status of terminal echo.

**Parameters**

_echon _ ([Integer](integer.md))  \[out\]

Returns non-zero if terminal echo is currently enabled, else zero.

**Comments**

You can enable/disable echo using calling [ECHO/NOECHO](echo_noechosbr.md).
