# Date/Time-Related Codes > [HTML Version](datetime-relatedcodes.htm) The following table shows the codes related to date and time fields. Note that determination of whether a date field will return the full century (CCYY), rather than just the year (YY), is determined by the larger of [maxchrs](maxchrs.htm.md) and [xmax](xmax.htm.md). | | | |------|------| | **Value** | **Description** | | \> | (greater than) [Convert Date Format](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#convertdateformat). | | d | [Date Input (Default Today)](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#dateinputtoday). | | D | [Date Input](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#dateinput). | | |D | Defaults century to 19xx. Applies for date formats which allow user to enter only the YY. If not specified, century default is determined by the SBR=CCYY:## entry in miame.ini. | | ||D | Allows a date field to be filled with zeroes. | | |d | [Allow Date Shortcuts](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#allowdateshortcuts). | | |h | [HexaDecade Dates (2)](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#hexadecadedates2). | | H | Hours field. Like **\$** but omits the "\$" from the display. | | |H | [HexaDecade Dates (1)](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#hexadecadedates1). | | j | [Julian Date Format](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#juliandateformat). | | t | [Time Field](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#timefield). | | th | Same as **t** but allows hh > 24. Not supported in the Windows date control, i.e. not compatible with _type_ **|G** (use **|g** instead). | | ||t | Same as **t** (time) but in GUI mode returns the time in 12-hour format rather than 24 hour format. | | u | [LDF-Related Codes](ldf-relatedcodes.htm.md). | | U | [European Date](infld-date-time-codes.htm.md#europeandate). | | ||u | May be used with the **D**, **d**, **t**, and **YN** codes to ignore the current LDF settings and just use the (American) defaults. Without this, the LDF format was used, even in the absence of the **u** code. | **History** 2011 January, A-Shell 5.1.1200: INFLD enhancement: date fields (except for the GUI date picker) can now use a "form" (_type_ **f**, SETDEF set to something like "99/99/99"). This provides a sort of middle way between the Windows date picker control (which some people don't like), and a standard date field (in which the separators don't appear until after hitting Enter).
