> [HTML Version](xtr_opcode.htm)
XTR.OPCODE determines the operational mode, from one of the following choices.
| **Symbol** | **Value** | **Description** |
|------|------|------|
| [XTROP\_CREATE](xtrop_create.htm.md) | 0 | (0) Normal usage. Create a new control. |
| [XTROP\_REPLACE](xtrop_replace.htm.md) | 1 | (1) Use existing control but replace data within it |
| [XTROP\_APPEND](xtrop_append.htm.md) | 2 | (2) Append data to an existing control |
| XTROP\_DELETE | 3 | (3) Deletes an XTREE control, and is only necessary when the control was created with the [TXF\_MODELESS](xtree-flags1b.htm.md#xtf_modeless) flag (otherwise it is deleted automatically). Note that you can also delete the XTREE control (like any other control) by clearing the screen with Tab(-1,0) or by deleting the parent dialog. |

| [XTROP\_PRINT](xtrop_print.htm.md) | 6 | (6) Print and print preview via APEX |
