Folder vs. Project Programmer Numbers [P,Pn]

In the Windows operating systems, files of data are located in “Folders”. The original Alpha Micro OS used the terms Project and Programmer number, and it was written as [P,Pn]. The PPn and folder names are referring to the same location of files on the computer system. See the examples below.

The distribution accounts are used to receive the downloaded software, sample data, and updates. Once the transfers have been completed then files are copied to the various user accounts. Follow is a list of the folders used on a Windows system. In the remaining documentation both terms are still used.

Distribution folders where files are located in a typical pawn shop installation.

When a new user is installed all downloaded files go into the [27,*] folders. The [27,*] folders are also used for any updates to the software. Then files are copied to their various execution folders.

States / jurisdictions try to correspond to release number in
 the store parameters of APS E > A <ret> A 27.
Multiple versions run in the same Ppns. For example, Alabama has three        different rules so the version in field 27 tells what rule to apply. The files and
 forms are the same.
See the discussion on Store parameters in APS 505 Manual Chapter 5
