Carriage Return key on the terminal. The same as the ENTER key or the RETURN key |

COMMANDS |
Commands are one word names of files that the computer knows as a procedure to do a certain task. |
CURSOR |
The symbol that indicates the current typing position on the terminal screen. It usually will be a vertical bar, it may be blinking. |
FIELD |
An individual data entry item, such as date, driver license, or first name. |
PIN |
Personal Identification number, used for cash drawer transactions. Each person in the store has their own unique code, (similar to an automated teller PIN). |
PLEDGOR |
The customer who makes a pawn loan in a store. |
PROGRAM |
The entire APS software is a collection of individual selections that perform a particular function or task. A program is a specific task. The nouns “routine” and “program” are synonyms, and in the documentation are used interchangeably. |
PROMPT FIELD |
The data entry position on the screen where the program has placed the cursor. |
RECORD |
A computer record is usually defined as any one entity or transaction. Examples of a record could be one loan, one inventory item, or sales transaction. |
