Each routine (program) is predefined to be either a POS “point of sale” or a “report” routine. That way when the routine is executed the operator is not asked where the output is to be printed. The POS and REPort definitions for each PC/Workstation are assigned with the routine: “Attach jobs to printers”, available from either of two menu selections: E – L, or E – A (ret) – L. In addition to the assigned POS of REPort defined printer, some of the routines can be told to switch from using the POS definition to / from the REPort definition..Following is a list of those routines that may have their default printer definition changed.

Example
Assume that the Daily Summary of Drawers is to be printed on the POS printer instead of on the REPort printer. Then in the Daily Business menu select G. Memo and Notes. When requested for a file name enter: PWN840.POS, and answer “Y” to the question create this file? The screen will fill with stars “****” and wait to have text entered. Enter a message similar to “Made this file to override drawer report”. There is nothing significant about the message, the “trigger” is that the file exists (the internal message could be a bunch of X’s. When PWN840 is selected, the file PWN840.REP is “seen" and knows to print to the REPort printer definition.
Deleting the override file.
When the override file is to be deleted, exit from any menu with the “X” to exit. The APS. prompt will be displayed. At the prompt enter the erase command and the name of the file:
APS. erase pwn840.rep
A message will be displayed saying 1 file deleted.
Enter APS to restart the APS menus.
