In this section the subjects pertain to the overall system. This chapter will discuss system errors, efficient use of the system, and common questions. Because the APS software runs on a variety of systems, some discussions may not be relevant to a particular installation. The individual discussions will try to denote which routines are appropriate for a particular operating system.
Although the system has been written with a considerable amount of error checking, errors still occur. If a problem should occur during the running of the APS program, the error should be looked at by the system manager. If the error is a program error it is automatically logged in the file called ERRORS.TXT in the folder where the APS data resides. See Appendix F for a list of programming error messages, this list does not include system errors. The following paragraphs discuss individual subjects that apply to the entire computer system.
