AlphaPawn Software (APS) is a Point of Sale computer program written for pawnshops. It automates the loan, sale, purchase, and inventory record keeping. APS was designed and is a true multi-user, multi-tasking software program. This means users on multiple workstations can be processing multiple transactions at the same time (note, there are some system maintenance routines that must be run "stand alone" but normally not during a business day). This document describes the software both for the operator who is running the system, and for the owner who needs to understand the methods used to run the software. This introduction chapter will describe the manual organization, keyboard usage, maintenance routines, and the display / print routines.
The purpose of the APS manual is to help in the understanding of APS. This manual will be helpful not only in learning the system, but also as a reference guide as the user becomes more proficient and independent on the use and functions of the computer. APS is well structured with routines that are all similar and commands that are uniform throughout the system.
