The Purchases (Buys) routine requests name, address, and identification information. A valid ID type must be entered in the ID field. If an invalid ID is read on existing purchase records it is assumed to be a driver's license, type "1". After all the purchase information has been entered, press the Esc Key. Reply to the prompt message "Entry Complete" with a Y=Yes or N=No. If verification is required that the employee number entered and the operator are the same person, read the security documentation on how to set up that option. If the purchase is a firearm, the acquisition information is entered automatically in the ATF Book (file). At this point the items purchased may either be put directly into inventory NOW or held until the pull date, see E-A-A-field 17, "Option".
